Masks to take advantage of this quarantine!

It feels like we’re going on day 498 of quarantine and I personally feel like its so hard to snap out of this funk that some of us have fallen into. Our hair is a mess, our makeup isn’t done, every last one of our lash extensions have fallen out, and don’t even get me started on my nails… I could cry every time I look down at my hands. But, we’re all in the same boat and we gotta push through ladies! So let’s try our hardest make the most of this “time off” and take advantage of giving our skin a break from the makeup and our hair a break from the heat! Trade in your foundation and curling irons for face and hair masks instead! Here are some of my favorite go-to’s… lets start with our hair!

Davines Naturaltech Nourishing Hair Building Pak

available at The Lux Studio - Middleton

One of my best friends always raved about how this product helped bring her hair (and more importantly her curls) back to life. I had been dying to try it, but haven’t gotten around to it until this week to be honest. In only 3 uses, I can already notice a difference in my curls that I thought were permanently ruined and never coming back! It’s a super hydrating and nourishing mask that will help nurse your hair back to life. Some people just leave it on in the shower for 5-10 minutes, but apply it to towel dried hair after the shower and let it sit over night. Do not shampoo it out - just rinse! I would recommend this product to anyone that has over processed, dry hair in need of some TLC and extra moisture.

Olaplex Step 3

available at The Lux Studio - Middleton

If you’re a client of mine, you know I swear by the entire olaplex line. I was so happy when they came out with Step 3, which is an at home treatment for clients, but was kind of disappointed with the size of the bottle. Well, they finally released a new 8.5oz bottle vs the original 3.3oz! I personally will never touch bleach to my hair without using olaplex steps 1 & 2 and following up with step 3 at home, and I notice such a difference in the texture of my hair. I typically use it in the shower - I dampen my hair and apply the step 3 mids to ends, let it sit for 10, then rinse shampoo and condition it out! Feel it out for yourself - you won’t regret it!

Davines the Renaissance Circle

available at The Lux Studio - Middleton

This mask I love for a few different reasons - the smell, how silky my hair is after, and the price! The Circle Chronicles hair masks come in little packets and are just $10 each! Each packets has enough product for multiple uses and even comes with a little cap that way the product doesn’t dry out or leak and go to waste. There are 6-7 different hair masks in the Circle Chronicles, this one is just my favorite for dry, damaged hair!

Let’s move onto face masks!

Glam Glow Hydrating Treatment Masque

available at Sephora

My skin tends to get super dry and this is one mask that has for sure helped keep my face nice and hydrated. Its a little pricey, but a little goes a long way! You’re supposed to wash it off after a little bit of time, but I like to use it as a nighttime moisturizer before bed and leave it on until the morning.

Borghese Active Mud Mask

available online

This is my absolute holy grail clarifying face mask I swear by all day long! I tend to get this random patch of acne on my right cheek bone area from time to time that I can’t seem to get to the bottom of just yet… but whenever they appear, I apply this mask either to just that area or to my entire face and the next morning, my skin is clear. I got threading done once and broke out in all these tiny bumps and pimples so I applied the mask all over my face and same thing - I woke up with clear skin the next morning! There is a ton of product in the container so it lasts forever which is another bonus. I use a flat foundation brush to apply it and let it sit for a while until it hardens.

Sheet Masks

available at Ulta, Sephora, Target etc

Sheet masks are another favorite of mine and I find them super soothing and relaxing! There are so many to choose from depending on your skin type and skin concerns. I haven’t found an absolute favorite yet because I love constantly trying out new ones whenever I can. Most of them are super affordable so whenever I run out I make sure to grab a bunch to try! You can get them either online or in stores from Ulta, Sephora, Target, and even CVS and Walgreens.

Laura Mercier Face Oil

available at Nordstrom

So I know this isn’t a mask… but I can’t not mention my favorite skin care product! My skin has always been super dry and extremely sensitive so its hard for me to find a good product that does its job while also making sure my skin doesn’t have a bad reaction. Most oils are super heavy on the skin and can cause breakouts and irritations on sensitive skin types like mine. This particular oil is super light weight so it does not irritate my skin one bit. I was skeptical about buying it at first due to the price, but 1-2 bottles at most lasts me the entire year! I use it in the morning before my moisturizer and at night I use it after my serums and moisturizer to lock everything in. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone with overly dry and sensitive skin.

Okay one more little bonus for anyone thats dying to get their nails done! I took my dip powder off and am letting my nails breathe for now so I haven’t personally tried these out yet, but my co worker tried out this KISS Jelly Fantasy nail kit and they look awesome! They have all different shapes from square to coffin to stiletto etc. and tons of different colors to choose from. I know we all are dying to show up at our nail techs houses at this point BUT these are an awesome alternative to hold you over for now! Available at your local CVS.
